The power of music is very strong.Well, it is for me at least! Because what would the Hobbit and LOTR be without the music that
Howard Shore wrote? Probably still brilliant, but most of the Feels would probably die. You wouldn't get shivers up and down your spine as the dwarves are walking before the Thunder Battle and the Misty Mountains them is playing, etc. etc. etc.!
"Dreaming of Bag-End" is, I think, my favourite. (It plays in the end-credits of AUJ.) It captures the "dreamy" Feel so well! Sometimes when I listen to it, I almost want to cry! Because the Feels just come so strong. And when Les plays it on the piano...BEAUTIFUL! Even sometimes when I'm listening to it I can barely do anything, for I'm...dreaming of Bag-End. :)
The dwarves singing "Misty Mountains" in Bag-End. HOW CAN THORIN HIT THOSE NOTES?! I don't know, but this song is...I cannot describe it. And it's even more fabo, when you learn all the verses from the book!
And this, I'm putting on because it's got the "hobbit" team song (0:50), the "Erebor" team song (1:51), and, yes, the "Smaug" team song (4:02).
Yes, the music's beautiful! :)

MISTY MOUNTAINS. THORIN. THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY.
ReplyDeleteYes, I KNOW. Wait...one moment...*re-listens to "Misty Mountains"* *sits there* *recovers* Gah, it's amazing! Driving home from watching DoS, my father said that it would've been amazing if they had "Misty Mountains" play when the dwarves revealed the gold statue. I thought, "Ooo, yes it would have! But...I don't know if I would have been able to function after that."
DeleteWait, I don't know if I'm still able to fully function now! :)
Thank you SO much for the comment!
Wait. Hold on. *assumes a Smaug expression* AAAAH FEELS?! FEELS! I WILL SHOW YOU FEELS! *flops over*
ReplyDeleteYou are right, my love. Without music, Middle-earth would not have an essential portion of its beauty and wonder. Describing how music, especially this kind, makes you feel can be a difficult thing. But yes, "most of the Feels would probably die." (See how quote-worthy a lass this one is! :)
Bilbo seems to have magical effects upon you, if the mere mention of "Dreaming of Bag-end" is enough to have your eyes glisten with tears. Though I, too, get the Feels from listening to it, I think you are 'hit' with more 'emotions', since your fondness for the hobbit is deeper than mine. And you mentioned the Elf-Dragon! *smiles* Thank you, darling. Oh, and Misty Mountains! And My Dear Frodo! AND SMAUG'S THEME! *squeals*
Thank you, thank you!
DeleteI do believe what you said about me and "Dreaming of Bag-end" is true. Though I don't know if I cry every time. They should've had a moment to play it in DoS! But, then the extended edition hasn't come out yet, and if they do, I don't think I'll be anything but a bunch of tears. :')
" And My Dear Frodo! AND SMAUG'S THEME! *squeals*"...and you almost scraping my arm. :D

Just leave me here to die, I'm done with feels...and dwarves.
Deleteoh my WORD Les: "I will show you feels! *flops over*" XD. so accurate! I think we all feel like this.
Sigh, this music is like my life. I have "I See Fire" stuck in my head right now & it's depressing.
"Oh misty eye of the mountain below,
Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls
And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke,
Keep watching over Durin's sons."
^^^OKAY CAN WE NOT. Man alive that last line just kills me. This fandom has so much suffering involved BUT it's incredibly fun anyway.;) Btw hi Seffy, haven't heard from you in a while! This post was great! :)
~Lili
NO. NOT "I SEE FIRE". I detest that song. "it's depressing", tell me about it. *sobs*
DeleteI do believe we all need a nice, long hug. *gathers all the broken hearted fangirls* *group hug!*
The Music Feels are some of the worst! :'( :)

p. s. thank you!
